CASAMBI → DMX-512 · SINGLE-UNIVERSE MASTER

casDMX

Keep the DMX fixture. Give it a Casambi control surface.

casDMX translates Casambi dimming, color and tunable-white controls into one wired DMX-512 universe. Select the profile that matches the fixture personality, choose one start address, and casDMX drives every required channel in strict sequence.

THE BRIDGE GOES THIS DIRECTION

Casambi in.
DMX out.

The app, scenes, switches and schedules control Casambi Elements. casDMX turns those values into the adjacent DMX slots expected by the selected fixture personality.

INTERACTIVE PROFILE + ADDRESS LAB

Choose the profile.
The addresses follow.

casDMX accepts one start address. Every profile channel occupies the next DMX slot—S, S+1, S+2 and onward—with no gaps.

Build the fixture block

This demonstration illustrates the released mapping. It does not configure hardware.

ADJACENT MEANS ADJACENT
A four-channel profile starting at 101 uses 101, 102, 103 and 104. Channel 105 cannot replace 103.

MATCH FUNCTION AND CHANNEL ORDER

The profile is the personality translator.

Choose by fixture function and DMX channel order—not just channel count. Evolution and NoMix profiles can behave differently.

REPEAT A DRIVER CHANNEL BLOCK

One RGB command.
Repeated down the frame.

For cascaded linear drivers that consume and remove their own slots, Copy Channel Count repeats the first N controlled values across the outgoing frame.

THREE VENDOR PARAMETERS

Address it. Size the frame. Repeat when needed.

Normally leave the 512-channel frame and copying disabled. Change them only when the fixture or driver architecture requires it.

ONE CONTINUOUS DMX BUS

DMX+, DMX− and common.

Power from 12–24 VDC Class 2. Daisy-chain receivers on DMX-rated cable and terminate only the far end when required.

X2-1 · X2-2 · X2-3

DMX+, DMX− and common/ground are the only field signal connections.

X2-4 · X2-5

Not used. Leave both terminals unconnected; casDMX has no Digital I/O feature.

Non-isolated DMX: common/ground must be continuous. Use a splitter for branches—never a passive T or star—and place a 120 Ω terminator at the final receiver only.
